In the rich volcanic soils of Nyeri County, around 900 farmers who make up the Gikanda Farmers Cooperative Society grow some of the highest-quality Kenyan coffee beans. The name “Gichathaini” comes from the Kikuyu word muchatha, a medicinal plant (Vernonia auriculifera) found abundantly in the area. This deep connection to the land reflects the factory’s integration with local culture and community.
This Natural-processed Kenyan coffee was an absolute delight from the moment we tasted it for the first time, during a cupping organised by our partner, The Coffee Quest. Bursting with sweet, fruity flavours and boasting a vibrant acidity, this coffee will be a treat no matter how you make it!
