This coffee is a reminder that decaf can be every bit as exciting as the real thing. At El Vergel Estate in Tolima, the Bayter family transformed their farm from avocados to one of Colombia’s most innovative coffee projects. Since 2016 they’ve embraced specialty coffee and pioneered bold processing methods. This lot is processed using an anaerobic fermentation, a process that brings out richer and more complex flavours in the coffee. Afterwards, they undergo sugarcane (E.A.) decaffeination, a gentle method which removes caffeine while preserving vibrant flavours. The beans have been roasted light, and the result is a truly wonderful coffee with lots of fruity flavour notes like mandarin and cherry, and a sweet body that reminds us of honey and cacao. This bean is a treat for any coffee lover, and especially perfect for those who prefer their coffee without the accompanying caffeine high.
