After inheriting the farm from his father, José Alfredo Gómez began the enterprise of growing high-quality specialty coffee beans, which grow in the natural shade of the farm’s avocado, banana and orange trees. Bendición means ‘blessing’ in Spanish, named as such because Jose and his family view the farm as a blessing from God. Without a doubt, this naturally-processed Guatemalan coffee is just that. Featuring a diverse range of rich flavour notes from juicy lime to bright fruit and delicate milk chocolate, expect your taste buds to explode with satisfaction after drinking this delight of a coffee.

The Coffee Quest has been sourcing coffee from this farm since 2018, with positive experiences on each visit. The farm spans 34 hectares and is operated with a commitment to sustainability and quality. José and his family grow coffee alongside avocados, oranges, and bananas, which provide shade for the coffee plants. The farm avoids herbicides to preserve the soil and the overall quality of their coffee. The farm’s meticulous practices ensure high sweetness and quality, as only cherries with an ideal Brix value of 22 are picked. Although the farm lacks its own dry-mill, collaboration with San Miguel Mill allows José to concentrate on producing top-notch coffee.

The Coffee Quest supports fair pricing and combats labor exploitation by maintaining close relationships with local suppliers like San Miguel. Finca La Bendición, meaning “blessing,” reflects José’s dedication to preserving the environment, aligning with the farm’s name and ethos. Enjoy the rich, sweet flavors of Finca La Bendición’s coffee, grown with care and respect for both people and the planet.
